What are essential oils?

Essential oils are quite simply compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plant’s natural scents and create an ‘essence’ which is obtained through distillation (steam) or cold pressing. These condensed oils are then diluted and applied to everyday household beauty products and diffusers.

Essential oils are more than just natural, they each contain their own unique chemical makeup which include dozens of benefits. Historically, essential oils have dated back as far as 3,500 BC and are believed to have been first used in Ancient Egypt for medical and religious purposes.
